فَسَوۡفَ يَأۡتِي ٱللَّهُ بِقَوۡمٍ يُحِبُّهُمۡ وَيُحِبُّونَهُۥٓ
— المائدة 54
Verse: "Allah will bring a people He loves and who love Him — humble toward believers, firm against disbelievers." (5:54)
Occasion (Hasan — Al-Tabari and Al-Wahidi): Revealed in the context of warning against apostasy — if some leave, Allah will bring a better people. No generation monopolizes divine favor.
The four qualities: Mutual love + humility toward believers + firmness against disbelievers + striving without fear of blame — these are the criteria for the beloved people.
No generational monopoly: A glad tiding that every generation achieving these qualities becomes "the people Allah brings."
