The Daily Portion — How to Set a Realistic and Sustainable Plan

hifz Level: basic method hfz-029
Common mistake: An enthusiastic memorizer starts with 10 pages daily in Ramadan then collapses in Shawwal — because a "large undisciplined portion" is weaker than a "small continuous one."

Hadith: "The deeds most beloved to Allah are the most consistent, even if small." (Agreed upon)

Setting a realistic portion:
  1. Know yourself: trial a week of what you can easily commit to — 3 verses daily is better than 10 inconsistent ones
  2. Divide the portion: new memorization + near review + distant review — all three in the daily session
  3. Fixed timing: make the portion at a specific time like medicine — fixing to one time removes daily internal conflict
  4. Be gentle with yourself: if you miss a day don't double tomorrow — return to your normal portion
Sustainable sample plan: 5 new verses + 5 near-review verses + 1 page distant review = 30 minutes after Fajr.

Question: Why is a small consistent daily portion better than a large inconsistent one in Quran memorization?
Answer: Because memory is built by regular repetition not large doses — the hadith is explicit: "The deeds most beloved to Allah are the most consistent, even if small."
