The seven became ten with three additions:
8 — Abu Ja'far Yazid Al-Madani (d. 130H): Learned from Ibn Abbas and Abu Hurayra. Among Medina's earliest readers. Narrators: Ibn Wardan and Ibn Jammaz.
9 — Ya'qub Al-Hadrami Al-Basri (d. 205H): Imam of Basra after Abu Amr. Narrators: Ruwis and Rawh. Features: extending ha' al-kinaya in certain positions; special stopping modes.
10 — Khalaf Al-Ashir (d. 229H): Khalaf ibn Hisham — independent reader after being Hamza's narrator. Narrators: Is'haq and Idris.
Ibn Al-Jazari's codification: He gathered all ten in Al-Nashr and Al-Durra Al-Mudiyya.
