First: Sila of ha' al-kinaya (pronominal ha'):
The singular masculine pronoun ha' (in "minhu / 'anhu / lahu") — the default is plain pronunciation. Some readers extend it with waw or ya' when it has a vowel followed by a moving letter:
- Ibn Kathir: Extends ha' in all cases (long sila) — "minhuw al-rasul" with waw.
- Hafs: Extends ha' in one unique position only: "wayakhlud fihi muhana" (25:69) — with ya'.
Second: Mim al-jam':
The plural mim (in "alayhim / bihim / minhum") — default is sukun. But:
- Qalon, Ibn Kathir, Abu Ja'far: Connect it with waw when followed by a moving letter — "'alayhimu al-salah."
- Hafs and the majority: Sukun in all cases.
Question: In which unique position does Hafs extend the ha' pronoun with ya'?
Answer: "Wayakhlud fihi muhana" in Surah Al-Furqan (69) — this is the only position where Hafs extends the ha'.
