Quranic context: Taha 56-76; Ash-Shu'ara 10-51
Context: Allah sent Musa and Harun to Pharaoh — "Speak to him gently, perhaps he will be reminded or fear" — a prophetic teaching on addressing tyrants: gentleness first.
Confrontation with the sorcerers:
Pharaoh gathered his sorcerers on the Day of Adornment. They cast their ropes and staffs, making them appear to move. "Musa threw his staff and it devoured what they fabricated." Then the sorcerers fell prostrate as believers.
Pharaoh claiming lordship:
"I am your highest lord" (79:24), "I know no god for you other than me" (28:38) — the model of the tyrant who transforms political authority into religious claim.
Lesson: A genuine miracle cannot be withstood by any power — and truth appears even when falsehood is backed with all its strength. The sorcerers who came to extinguish the light became the first believers.

Question: What method did Allah command Musa and Harun to use with Pharaoh and what is its wisdom?
Answer: Gentle speech first — because the tyrant may be reminded or fear, and harshness closes his heart and gives him justification to use it against the messenger.
