Ayyub and His Legendary Patience — "Adversity Has Touched Me"

stories Level: basic prophets st-054
Quranic context:
Ayyub (AS) was afflicted with severe trials in his body, wealth, and family for many years. He did not complain to people but turned to his Lord with perfect courtesy: "Adversity has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful."

Context:
Allah responded: "So We answered him and removed his affliction." He was told to strike the ground with his foot — a spring gushed out, he bathed and drank from it and was healed. His family was restored to him and their like with them as a mercy from Allah.

Lesson:
Supplicating to Allah does not contradict patience — Ayyub did not complain out of bitterness but sought help through his weakness and Allah's mercy. True patience is not silence before Allah but turning to Him while being content with His decree.
