And He Is With You Wherever You Are — Allah Is Never Absent

tadabbur Level: basic mercy-forgiveness td-024
وَهُوَ مَعَكُمۡ أَيۡنَ مَا كُنتُمۡ
— الحديد 4
Verse: "And He is with you wherever you are. And Allah sees what you do." (57:4)

Two types of divine accompaniment:
  • General ma'iyyah: "He is with you" — Allah's encompassing knowledge, hearing, and sight for all creation, believer and disbeliever
  • Special ma'iyyah: "Allah is with those who are pious" — a specific accompaniment of help, support, and protection for the pious and patient
"Wherever you are":
Darkness does not obscure Him; mountains do not hide you from Him; the ocean does not distance you. When alone in darkness a person thinks no one sees them — the Quran says: "Does he not know that Allah sees?" (96:14).

"Allah sees what you do":
Ending with "Al-Baseer" teaches: not only is Allah "with you" in hardship — He sees every action, good or evil. Hope and warning together in one verse.

Lesson: If you feel Allah is with you, you will need no one else in moments of isolation — and you will avoid every wrong, knowing He sees it.
