Your Companion Has Not Gone Astray Nor Erred — Allah's Justice With His Prophet

وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلۡهَوَىٰٓ إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحۡيٌ يُوحَىٰ
— النجم 3
Verse: "Your companion has not gone astray nor erred. He does not speak from desire — it is not but a revelation revealed." (53:2-4)
"Your companion": Addressed them with a familiar description — "your companion" whom they knew from his childhood, who grew up among them. The argument: can one you knew throughout your whole lives suddenly go astray?
"Does not speak from desire": Proof of revelation's infallibility — everything the Prophet says in religious matters is protected revelation. This is a foundation for the authority of the Prophetic Sunnah.
Lesson: Personal knowledge of the Prophet ﷺ was the strongest proof — those who knew him in all his states found no contradiction or false claim.
