لَا تُلۡهِكُمۡ أَمۡوَٰلُكُمۡ وَلَآ أَوۡلَٰدُكُمۡ عَن ذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِ
— المنافقون 9
Verse: "O you who believe, let not your wealth and children divert you from the remembrance of Allah." (63:9)
"Ulhi" (divert): From lahw — total preoccupation that causes forgetting. Wealth and children are legitimate blessings, but when they monopolize the heart until it distances from Allah they become a trial.
Lesson: Wealth and children are second in priorities — dhikr and the Hereafter first. This doesn't mean abandoning them, but correctly ordering them relative to Allah.

Question: What is meant by wealth and children "diverting" from the remembrance of Allah?
Answer: Complete monopolization of heart and time until they become the priority — not possessing them, but allowing them to precede Allah in concern.
