فَذَٰلِكَ ٱلَّذِي يَدُعُّ ٱلۡيَتِيمَ وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلۡمِسۡكِينِ
— الماعون 2
Verse: "Have you seen the one who denies the religion? That is the one who drives away the orphan and does not encourage feeding the poor." (107:1-3)
Deep connection: The Quran defines the religion-denier by his social conduct — not his declared creed. One who pushes away the orphan and cares nothing for the poor: this is denial of religion through action.
Lesson: Genuine prayer generates concern for the vulnerable — prayer that doesn't change behavior needs review.

Question: How does the Quran in Al-Ma'un define the religion-denier, and what is the significance?
Answer: By his social conduct — driving away orphans and ignoring the poor. Significance: true faith appears in treatment of the vulnerable, not only in rituals.
