Say: I Seek Refuge with the Lord of People — The Quran Closes With Refuge

قُلۡ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ مَلِكِ ٱلنَّاسِ إِلَٰهِ ٱلنَّاسِ
— الناس 1
Verse: "Say: I seek refuge with the Lord of people, King of people, God of people — from the evil of the whisperer who retreats." (114:1-4)
Three names at the opening: Rabb (Guardian), Malik (Controller), Ilah (Worshipped) — complete triple monotheism in the refuge-seeking.
"The whisperer who retreats" (al-khannás): Shaytan whispers then retreats and hides when Allah is remembered.
The Quran closes with refuge-seeking: As if saying: after all this knowledge and guidance — remain in your Lord's protection from the hidden enemy. Knowledge alone is not enough without seeking refuge.
Lesson: The Quran began with "Bismillah" — seeking Allah's help. It ends with "I seek refuge" — returning to Him. The entire circle revolves around Him.

Question: What is the significance of the Quran closing with a surah of refuge-seeking (An-Nas)?
Answer: Because knowledge and guidance alone are insufficient — the human continuously needs Allah's protection from Shaytan. Seeking Allah's refuge is the proper conclusion of all guidance.
