Say: O Allah, Possessor of Sovereignty — The True Kingdom Is Unshared

tadabbur Level: basic trust-tawakkul td-163
تُؤۡتِي ٱلۡمُلۡكَ مَن تَشَآءُ وَتَنزِعُ ٱلۡمُلۡكَ مِمَّن تَشَآءُ
— آل عمران 26
Verse: "Say: O Allah, Possessor of sovereignty — You give sovereignty to whom You will and take it from whom You will." (3:26)

Reflection: Every king and president manages borrowed sovereignty — "You give sovereignty to whom You will" means the kingdom is Yours and You loan it to whoever You choose, reclaiming it whenever You will.

Lesson: Honor belongs to Allah — whoever seeks honor through Allah finds it; whoever seeks it elsewhere is humiliated.
Source: Ibn Kathir (2/36); Al-Sadi; Al-Qurtubi (4/53)
Question: What is the deep meaning of "You give sovereignty to whom You will" in practical life?
Answer: All human power is temporary and borrowed — Allah loans it then reclaims it. One should neither cling to worldly authority nor despair at the persistence of injustice.
