— الضحى 7
Verse: "Did He not find you an orphan and give shelter? And find you lost and guide you? And find you poor and enrich you?" (93:6-8)
Three blessings in three sentences: Orphan → shelter. Lost → guided. Poor → enriched. Each blessing came after genuine need.
"Found you lost": The lostness here: not knowing the right way before revelation — not the lostness of disbelief but lacking prophetic guidance. Ibn Kathir: "He did not know what the Book and faith were."
Lesson: The past tense in these verses is a gentle reminder to the forgetful human — reminding of past divine blessings to evoke shame at ingratitude and turn toward gratitude.

Question: What does "found you lost" mean in the context of the Prophet's life ﷺ before revelation?
Answer: Not knowing the right religious path — "you did not know what the Book and faith were" (42:52). Not the lostness of disbelief but lacking prophetic guidance before revelation descended.
