Have You Seen What You Emit — Do You Create It or Are We the Creators?

tadabbur Level: intermediate akhirah td-244
أَءَنتُمۡ تَخۡلُقُونَهُۥٓ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡخَٰلِقُونَ
— الواقعة 59
Verse: "Have you seen what you emit — do you create it or are We the creators?" (56:58-59) — A thought-stopping question: humans deposit the seed and have no control over it. Will it become a fetus? Will it develop? Male or female? Will it come out alive? — all entirely beyond human will. The same pattern repeats with agriculture, water, and fire — all challenging humans to prove their independence. Philosophical purpose of the surah: proving resurrection by argument not assertion — if the creation of a seed defeats you, how can you deny the One able to recreate it? Lesson: some verses are not read for memorization — but for pausing and contemplation.

Question: What philosophical method does Surah Al-Waqiah use to prove resurrection?
Answer: Method of rational argument: if you're unable to create the seed, plant, and water — how do you deny Allah's power to resurrect? Acknowledging inability entails acknowledging power.
