Verse: "Thamud were destroyed by the thunderclap and Aad by a raging howling wind." (69:5-6) — Al-Haqqah opens with: "What is Al-Haqqah?" and doesn't define but repeats to magnify — as if the answer is too great for description. Then it lists the destroyed nations: each with a punishment matching their crime. Thamud denied Salih — came a lightning bolt. Aad were arrogant saying "who is mightier than us in strength" — came a wind that breaks everything strong. Lesson: history doesn't repeat by coincidence — nations are destroyed by the same ancient causes.
