— القيامة 14
Verse: "Rather, man is a clear witness against himself (14) even if he presents his excuses"
Reflection:
The greatest witness against a person is the person himself — his heart knows, his mind knows, even if his tongue denies and he offers a thousand excuses. The inner reproach that never falls silent even in this world will be loudest on the Day of Resurrection.
"Basirah" (seer): It comes in the feminine form even though a person is meant — to indicate an intensification of sight, as if the person is a pure mass of vision.
"Even if he presents his excuses": Even if he narrates his excuses and justifies his actions — his inner self knows the truth. In this lies the greatest deterrent: you cannot ultimately deceive yourself.
Al-Qurtubi said: "Meaning: he is a witness against himself for what he did even if he offers excuses and denies — for his limbs will testify against him and his conscience knows what he committed."
Lesson: When you err and justify it to yourself, know that there is a witness inside you that you cannot silence — it is better to reconcile with it through repentance before it testifies against you before Allah.

Question: What does "basirah" mean in the verse and why is it in the feminine form?
Answer: A seer-witness. The feminine form intensifies the meaning — as if the person is a pure mass of vision
