He Sought Forgiveness from His Lord and Fell Bowing and Repented — The Repentance of the Prophet-King

Verse: "He sought forgiveness from his Lord and fell bowing and repented." (38:24) — David ﷺ the Prophet and King — when he realized he was tested in his judgment between the two disputants and that he had been inclined in his ruling — he did not delay. Did not justify. Did not minimize. "He sought forgiveness and fell bowing and repented" — immediately, three successive actions for complete repentance. The prostration here is a Quranic prostration verse. Because David prostrated in repentance we prostrate in gratitude to Allah who made repentance part of our religion. Lesson: kings and prophets prostrate — what then of those of lower rank?
