We Revealed to Moses Strike the Sea With Your Staff and It Split — The Command to Use Means Not Abandon Them

tadabbur Level: basic trust-tawakkul td-334
أَنِ ٱضۡرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلۡبَحۡرَ فَٱنفَلَقَ
— الشعراء 63
Verse: "We revealed to Moses: Strike the sea with your staff — and it split, each part like a massive mountain." (26:63) — Moses ﷺ said: "We are overtaken." The sea ahead, Pharaoh behind. The solution? "Strike the sea with your staff" — Allah didn't say "pray and wait" but commanded action. The means was simple — the staff. But divine enablement was behind it. Lesson of tawakkul and action: tawakkul is not abandoning the means — but striking the staff and leaving the outcome to Allah.

Question: What is the practical lesson from Allah commanding Moses to strike the sea with his staff rather than just supplicate?
Answer: Correct tawakkul = taking the means + leaving the outcome to Allah. Allah commanded the action (strike) then gave the result (it split).
