قُلِ ٱللَّهُمَّ مَٰلِكَ ٱلۡمُلۡكِ
— آل عمران 26
Verse: "Say: O Allah, Owner of Sovereignty — You give sovereignty to whom You will and take it from whom You will; You honor whom You will and humiliate whom You will." (3:26) — "Owner of Sovereignty" = the real owner, not metaphorical. Four actions: give / take / honor / humiliate — all "as You will" = solely in His hands. Revelation context: glad tidings of conquering Persia and Rome — a divine promise of dominion transfer. The Islamic conquest came decades later — the promised arrives though delayed. Lesson: every authority, position, and provision is a gift from the "Owner of Sovereignty" — ask Him directly.

Question: What is the deep meaning of describing Allah as "Owner of Sovereignty" rather than just "King of kings"?
Answer: Owner = true proprietor — kings and rulers are merely trustees over His dominion.
