Four Types of Waqf — Tam, Kafi, Hasan, Qabih

Types of Waqf by ruling:

1. Tam (Complete):
Pausing on speech complete in meaning, disconnected from what follows in meaning and grammar.

2. Kafi (Sufficient):
Pausing on complete meaning but with semantic connection to what follows.

3. Hasan (Good):
Pausing on speech with good flow but grammatically connected to what follows.
Example: pausing on "بِسْمِ اللَّهِ" — allowed but disliked

4. Qabih (Bad):
Pausing that corrupts the meaning or implies false meanings.
Example: pausing on "لَا تَقْرَبُوا الصَّلَاةَ" — absolutely forbidden
