وَمَآ أُمِرُوٓاْ إِلَّا لِيَعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ مُخۡلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ
— البيّنة 5
Definition: Singling out Allah in what is exclusive to Him — Rububiyyah, Uluhiyyah, and Asma wa Sifat.
Three types: (1) Rububiyyah: affirming Allah alone is Creator/Provider/Controller — even polytheists affirmed this. (2) Uluhiyyah: singling Him in worship — what polytheists denied, the basis of prophethood. (3) Asma wa Sifat: affirming His names/attributes without anthropomorphism or negation.
All three are interlinked.

Question: Why did Tawhid Al-Rububiyyah not save the polytheists?
Answer: Because Rububiyyah is insufficient — true faith requires Uluhiyyah (singling out Allah in worship), which they rejected.
