Intermediate Emphasis Surah: Al-Ahzab (21)

Emphasis (Tawkid) — Methods and Purposes

لَقَدۡ كَانَ لَكُمۡ فِي رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ أُسۡوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ
— الأحزاب الآية 21
Definition: Strengthening speech and establishing it in the listener's mind.

Methods in the Quran: (1) Emphatic particles: inna, anna, lam, qad, laqad. (2) Verbal repetition: "Nay! You will come to know — then nay! you will come to know." (3) Semantic emphasis: "The angels prostrated, all of them together." (4) Oath: "By time — indeed humanity is in loss." (5) Repetition across verses.

Why does the Quran emphasize? With the skeptic or hesitant. Reduces emphasis with those already in agreement.
