Basic Prayer Surah: Al-Jumuah (9)

Friday Prayer — The Weekly Obligation

فَٱسۡعَوۡاْ إِلَىٰ ذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِ وَذَرُواْ ٱلۡبَيۡعَ
— الجمعة الآية 9
Verse: "O you who believe, when the call is made for prayer on Friday — hasten to the remembrance of Allah and leave trade." (62:9)

Ruling: Individual obligation on every free adult sane Muslim male resident.

"Leave trade": Even permissible commerce is stopped at the call — showing that Friday prayer takes precedence over all worldly matters.

Wisdom: Religion doesn't obstruct this world but organizes it — after prayer completes, commercial activity resumes.
