Surah: An-Nisa (58)
Allah Commands You to Render Trusts to Their Owners — The General Trust
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأۡمُرُكُمۡ أَن تُؤَدُّواْ ٱلۡأَمَٰنَٰتِ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهَا
— النساء الآية 58
Verse: "Indeed Allah commands you to render trusts to their rightful owners." (4:58)
"Trusts" (amanat): More comprehensive than deposits — includes: money, positions of authority (trust of power), secrets, knowledge, messages.
"When you judge between people, judge with justice": Logical sequence: faithfulness in administration then justice in judgment — the official is a trustee first before being a judge.
Applying trust in positions: Whoever holds a position beyond their competence has betrayed the trust — "when affairs are entrusted to those unqualified for them, await the Hour."
