Repetition and Recall — Test What You Memorize

سَنُقۡرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰٓ
— الأعلى الآية 6
No fixed repetition count suits everyone:
Review needs vary with a passage's length and wording, your prior knowledge, and how well you can recall it. A single forgetting curve does not show that half of your Quran memorization disappears in one hour or prescribe a count per verse or page.

A method to try:
  1. Read a manageable passage, then close the mushaf and recall it from memory.
  2. Open the mushaf to correct errors, then try recalling it again.
  3. Return to the passage on later days, reviewing more if errors recur and adjusting when recall improves.
General learning research supports retrieval practice and spacing reviews over time, but does not prescribe one numerical formula for Quran memorization. A qualified teacher can help correct recitation.
