Adam Descends to Earth — The Beginning of the Great Test
ثُمَّ ٱجۡتَبَٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَتَابَ عَلَيۡهِ وَهَدَىٰ
— طه الآية 122
Verse: "Adam disobeyed his Lord and erred. Then his Lord chose him and turned to him in repentance and guided him." (20:121-122)
The difference between Adam and Iblis:
Both sinned — Adam disobeyed; Iblis refused and was arrogant. The difference: Adam regretted, confessed, and repented ("Our Lord, we wronged ourselves"), while Iblis continued and justified himself.
The great lesson in sin:
The Quran did not present Adam's sin as a permanent deficiency — but as a stage in the journey of repentance and divine election. "Then his Lord chose him and turned to him in repentance and guided him" — the mistake became a door to elevation!
Lesson: The difference between Adam and Iblis is not the mistake — it is the reaction to the mistake. Adam wept and repented; Iblis was arrogant and cursed. You face this choice every day.
