Lut and the People of Sodom — The First Story of a Major Indecency

أَتَأۡتُونَ ٱلۡفَٰحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُم بِهَا مِنۡ أَحَدٍ مِّنَ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
— الأعراف الآية 80
Verse: "And Lut — when he said to his people: Do you commit an indecency none among the worlds preceded you in?" (7:80)

The unprecedented crime: "None among the worlds preceded you in it" — the Quran records this as an unprecedented moral collapse in human history.

Lut's stance: He called alone in a society that rejected values wholesale. When the angels came as guests — he was saved and his people destroyed.

Lesson: Lut ﷺ did not befriend falsehood when he found no supporter — the lone voice in a society of falsehood is a witness to its owner, not a burden.
