Basic Ethics & Manners Surah: Al-Qalam (4)

And Indeed You Are of Great Character — The Greatest Human Testimony

وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ
— القلم الآية 4
Verse: "And indeed you are of great character." (68:4)

Aisha was asked about the Prophet's character: "His character was the Quran" — the Quran was embodied in his person.

"Upon a character" (ala khuluq): The preposition "ala" (upon) indicates mastery and deep rootedness — not occasional good character but deep and permanent.

Lesson: Islam is a religion measured by its people's character — "I was only sent to perfect noble character." (Ahmad — Sahih) The most impactful da'wah is the da'wah of action.
