About What Are They Asking Each Other — The Great Announcement and Proof of Resurrection
عَمَّ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ عَنِ ٱلنَّبَإِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
— النبأ الآية 1
Verse: "About what are they asking each other? About the great announcement — that over which they disagree." (78:1-3)
"The great announcement": Resurrection and the Day of Judgment — what the Meccan people disputed and questioned among themselves. The answer came in detailed scenes of the Last Day.
Cosmic evidence for resurrection: "Did We not make the earth a resting place and the mountains as stakes?" — Allah's power to create the first time proves His power to recreate.
Awesome ending: "The day the Spirit and the angels stand in rows, none shall speak except one permitted by Ar-Rahman who says what is right" — cosmic awe in total silence.
