Basic The Hereafter Surah: At-Takwir (1)

When the Sun Is Wrapped — Scene of the Universe Being Folded

إِذَا ٱلشَّمۡسُ كُوِّرَتۡ
— التكوير الآية 1
Verse: "When the sun is wrapped up dark. When the stars fall. When the mountains are moved." (81:1-3)

Language of earthquake: At-Takwir assembles twelve "when" — each describing a collapse of a universe pillar. The sun folded, stars scattered, mountains moved, pregnant she-camels abandoned, seas filled with fire.

All for one moment: "And when the pages are spread" — the entire universe folds and records open simultaneously — for one purpose: "every soul will know what it has brought."

Lesson: The vast universe with all its galaxies will fold like a scroll — and the frail human will stand to hear judgment concerning himself.
