Intermediate Social Conduct Surah: Muhammad (38)

If You Turn Away He Will Replace You With Another People — Then They Will Not Be Like You

وَإِن تَتَوَلَّوۡاْ يَسۡتَبۡدِلۡ قَوۡمًا غَيۡرَكُمۡ
— محمد الآية 38
Verse: "If you turn away, He will replace you with another people — then they will not be like you." (47:38) — A warning to Muhammad's ﷺ nation of replacement. Allah does not need this nation to deliver His religion — He honored it by choosing it. "They will not be like you" = the replacements will be better at carrying the trust. Historically: when the nation grew complacent, new leaders emerged from Andalusia to Turan to Africa. Lesson: individuals and nations who are negligent about spreading good don't wait for a forcing God — they await replacement.
