Surah: Al-Baqarah (269)
He Gives Wisdom to Whom He Wills — Whoever Is Given Wisdom Has Been Given Abundant Good
يُؤۡتِي ٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ مَن يَشَآءُ
— البقرة الآية 269
Verse: "He gives wisdom to whom He wills, and whoever is given wisdom has been given abundant good." (2:269) — "Wisdom" = placing everything in its proper context. Ibn Masud: applying the Quran correctly. Wisdom is not raw intelligence or mere information — it is a granted light. "Abundant good" — indefinite for magnification: uncountable goodness. Wealth is earned and spent; wisdom accumulates and multiplies. Lesson: do not ask Allah only for wealth — ask for wisdom, for it is the abundant good.
