Say: Nothing Will Befall Us Except What Allah Has Decreed for Us — Trusting in Destiny During Crises
قُل لَّن يُصِيبَنَآ إِلَّا مَا كَتَبَ ٱللَّهُ لَنَا
— التوبة الآية 51
Verse: "Say: Nothing will befall us except what Allah has decreed for us. He is our Protector — and upon Allah let the believers rely." (9:51) — "Nothing will befall us" = absolute exclusion: nothing except what is written. "Written for us" not "against us" — the decree is in our favor, not against us. "He is our Protector" = helper, guardian, supporter. Context: hypocrites who gloated over believers in hardship. The answer: your gloating changes no decree, and the decree is in our Protector hands not yours. Lesson: belief in destiny is not fatalism — it is liberation from paralyzing fear.
