Basic Meem Saakinah Rules

Meem Sakinah is the letter Meem (م) with sukoon, whether in one word or two.

Meem Sakinah has three rulings:

• Ikhfa Shafawi — before Ba (ب)
• Idgham Shafawi (small muthaleen) — before Meem (م)
• Izhar Shafawi — before all other letters (22 letters)

Called "Shafawi" because all rulings involve the lips (Meem and Ba both come from the lips).

Note: Meem Sakinah rulings differ from Nun Sakinah — no Iqlab or Halqi Izhar for Meem.
