- Back of tongue + roof: ق — Examples: الْقُرْآنُ، الْقَدْرِ
- Back of tongue (lower): ك — الْكِتَابُ، أَكْبَرُ
- Middle tongue: ج ش ي — الْجَنَّةُ، الشَّمْسُ، يَوْمَ
- Tongue edge + molars: ض — الضَّالِّينَ (uniquely Arabic)
- Edge to tip + upper gums: ل — اللهُ، الْحَمْدُ
