Quranic Recitations — The Authorized Plurality

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ
— الحجر الآية 9
Definition: Different modes of pronouncing Quranic words — taken through continuous chains from the Prophet ﷺ. All are authentic Quran.

Most famous narrations: Hafs from Asim (most widespread), Warsh from Nafi (Morocco/Africa), Qalon from Nafi.

Example: "Malik yawm al-din" (short a, Hafs) and "Maalik" (long a, Nafi) — both authentic and authoritative.

Jurisprudential value: Recitation differences can imply different legal insights.
