Surah: Al-Ahzab (40)
Seal of Prophets — Nabi vs Rasul and the Finality
مَّا كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ أَبَآ أَحَدٍ مِّن رِّجَالِكُمۡ وَلَٰكِن رَّسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَخَاتَمَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ
— الأحزاب الآية 40
Nabi: One to whom Allah revealed — may renew a prior sharia.
Rasul: Commanded to convey an independent message — every Rasul is a Nabi but not every Nabi is a Rasul.
Finality: "Muhammad is not the father of any man but Allah's Messenger and the Seal of Prophets." (33:40). "No prophet after me." (Agreed Upon)
Core prophetic qualities: Truthfulness, trustworthiness, conveying the message, intelligence, infallibility in revelation.
