Ask Allah of His Bounty — Boundless Bounty Asked Without Bounds

tadabbur Level: basic trust-tawakkul td-177
وَسۡـَٔلُواْ ٱللَّهَ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦٓ
— النساء 32
Verse: "And ask Allah of His bounty." (4:32)

"Fadlihi" (His bounty) indefinite: Bounty without limit or description — because the definite form might imply boundaries.

Context: Revealed prohibiting wishing for what others were given — "do not wish for what Allah favored some over others." Instead of envy — ask Allah.

Lesson: Whatever you see with others and desire — make it a supplication not envy. "O Allah, provide me with similar or better."
Source: Ibn Kathir (2/253); Al-Sadi; Al-Qurtubi (5/152)
Question: What is the Quranic cure for envy presented in An-Nisa 32?
Answer: Converting from wishing for what others have to asking Allah from His bounty — instead of looking at what people have, look at Allah's treasuries and supplicate Him.
