ٱسۡتَعِينُواْ بِٱلصَّبۡرِ وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ
— البقرة 153
Verse: "O you who believe, seek help through patience and prayer — indeed Allah is with the patient." (2:153)
"Seek help": The verse frames patience and prayer not just as obligations but as means of seeking help from Allah. Prayer gives you strength rather than taking it from you.
Combining patience and prayer: Patience: restraining the self from panic. Prayer: connecting with Allah. Together they form a complete crisis method — patience prevents collapse, prayer brings reinforcement.

Question: Why does the Quran describe patience and prayer as "seeking help" not merely "worship"?
Answer: Because they are effective means for drawing Allah's help — "Allah is with the patient" is built on the seeking of help. They are tools not merely obligations.
