A Person Gets Only What They Strive For — The Theory of Personal Effort and Responsibility

tadabbur Level: basic accountability td-359
وَأَن لَّيۡسَ لِلۡإِنسَٰنِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَىٰ
— النجم 39
Verse: "A person gets only what they strive for, and their striving will be seen." (53:39-40) — "Only what they strive for" — absolute negation: no pure inheritance of good deeds. "Will be seen" = presented to them in full on Judgment Day. Context: the scrolls of Ibrahim and Musa — an ancient cosmic law. Scholars: no contradiction with ongoing charity and righteous children entering the scale — for those stem from one's own striving (writing, raising children). Lesson: do not rely on lineage or intercession — act now, your striving will be seen.

Question: How does "a person gets only what they strived for" reconcile with ongoing charity?
Answer: Ongoing charity and teaching children are part of one original striving — so their reward traces back to that person effort.
