Basic Makki Events Surah: Ad-Duha (3)

Verse: "By the morning brightness, and the night when it stills — your Lord has not forsaken you, nor has He despised you." (93:1-3)

Occasion (Sahih — Agreed Upon): Al-Bukhari (1124) and Muslim (1797) narrated from Jundub ibn Abdallah: Revelation paused for several days. A woman said: "It seems your devil has abandoned you." The surah was revealed as a response and reassurance: "Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor despised you."

Reliability: Sahih (Agreed Upon)

Lesson:

• A pause does not mean abandonment — Allah described Himself as "neither forsaking nor despising" for emphasis
• The reassurance came through Allah's oath: "By the morning brightness and the night" — the greatness of the oath matches the greatness of the one being reassured
• "And the Hereafter is better for you than the first" — every temporary trial is small before the promise of the Hereafter
• "Did He not find you an orphan and give shelter?" — Allah reminded the Prophet of past blessings to steady him in the present
