Establish Prayer and Give Zakat — The Two Pillars Together
وَأَقِيمُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُواْ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
— النور الآية 56
Verse: "Establish prayer, give zakat, and obey the Messenger — that you may be shown mercy." (24:56) — Prayer and zakat paired 28 times in the Quran: the individual dimension (prayer) and social dimension (zakat) are two faces of one worship. "That you may be shown mercy" — mercy is the goal of obedience.
