Mind Maps for Surahs — How to Build a Map for Surah Al-Baqarah

ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبُ لَا رَيۡبَۛ فِيهِ هُدٗى لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ
— البقرة الآية 2
What is a surah mind map?
A visual structure summarizing the surah's themes and the order of its passages — giving you a "road map" so you always know where you are in the surah.

Building a map for Al-Baqarah (286 verses):
  1. Major themes (7 sections):
    • [1-5] The Believers
    • [6-20] Disbelievers and Hypocrites
    • [21-167] Address to Bani Israel and their stories
    • [168-203] Legislation (halal/haram, fasting, Hajj)
    • [204-253] Stories of Prophets and Ayat Al-Kursi
    • [254-283] Transaction laws (riba, debt, testimony)
    • [284-286] Closing affirmation of faith
  2. Transition markers: Look for "Ya ayyuha alladhina" — each occurrence signals a new legislation.
  3. Visual anchor: Draw the map by hand — drawing deepens memory more than reading.
Practical benefit:
When you forget where a verse is: is it in the legislation section? Stories? Closing? The map guides you in seconds.
