Ibn Amir Al-Shami and Asim Al-Kufi

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
— الشعراء الآية 192
Abdullah ibn Amir Al-Shami (d. 118H) — Imam of Syria:
Learned from Al-Mughira ibn Abi Shihab from Uthman ibn Affan — some say he took directly from Companions. Imam of the Umayyad Mosque, Damascus. Narrators: Hisham and Ibn Dhakwan.

Asim ibn Abi Al-Najud (d. 127H) — Imam of Kufa:
Learned from Abu Abd Al-Rahman Al-Sulami (from Ali, Uthman, Ibn Masud) and from Zarr ibn Hubaysh. Taught in Kufa for a long period. Narrators: Hafs (d. 180H) and Shu'ba (d. 193H).

Hafs narration: The most widespread today (~80% of world's Muslims) — officially adopted in the Madinah Mushaf printed since 1985 CE.
