Biography:
Isa ibn Mina Al-Madani (d. 220H) — nicknamed "Qalon" (Greek/Byzantine for "good/excellent") by Nafi' as a compliment. A gifted reader in Medina, he was deaf yet recited with beautiful voice and high precision.

- Short disconnected madd: Allows qasr (2 harakaat) for al-madd al-munfasil in some paths
- Hamza: More tahqiq than Warsh with some tashil
