Abu Amr Al-Basri — Biography and the Feature of Al-Idgham Al-Kabir
Biography:
Zabban ibn Ma'n Abu Amr ibn Al-Ala' Al-Basri (d. 154H) — Imam of readers and grammarians in Basra. A sea of knowledge. It was said: if it were permissible to call anyone "the most knowledgeable of people," it would be Abu Amr.
Narrators: Al-Duri (d. 246H) and Al-Susi (d. 261H).
Al-Idgham Al-Kabir — key feature:
Assimilation of a moving letter into a moving letter when they are identical, paired, or adjacent in articulation. Examples:
