Hud and the People of 'Ad — The Violent Wind and Destructive Arrogance

وَتِلۡكَ عَادٌ ۖ جَحَدُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمۡ
— هود الآية 59
Verse: "And such was 'Ad — they denied the signs of their Lord, disobeyed His messengers, and followed the command of every obstinate tyrant." (11:59)

People of 'Ad: An Arabian tribe in Al-Ahqaf (Yemen) — massive bodies and towering structures; they said "who is mightier than us?"

Arrogance — cause of destruction: "Do you argue with us about Allah when He has guided us?" — they rejected Hud's guidance out of arrogance.

The violent wind: "We sent on them a violent wind in days of continuous misfortune" — seven nights and eight days; the wind uprooted them like hollow palm trunks.

Lesson: Physical power does not protect from Allah's punishment — "mightier than you" does not mean "better protected than you."
