Trust in Allah
Surah: At-Talaq (3)
Whoever Relies on Allah, He Will Suffice Him — The Divine Sufficiency Law
وَمَن يَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسۡبُهُۥٓ
— الطلاق الآية 3
Verse: "And whoever relies upon Allah — then He is sufficient for him. Indeed Allah will accomplish His purpose." (65:3)
Reflection:
"Fa-huwa" — the fa is for immediate consequence, and "huwa" is emphatic — "be certain: whoever relies on Allah, Allah suffices him directly."
Tawakkul is not laziness:
Al-Sadi: "Reliance on Allah does not contradict taking means — rather it is taking means while depending on the Cause-Giver. Whoever abandons means claiming tawakkul has confused trust with sloth."
"Allah will accomplish His purpose":
What Allah has decreed will occur regardless of preparation — but He set up means so those who take them are rewarded.
Lesson: True tawakkul: take every means available to you, then place the outcome entirely in Allah's hands — no more anxiety after that, because "Allah will accomplish His purpose."
