Surah: Ali Imran (33)
Allah Chose Adam, Noah, Ibrahim's Family and Imran's Family — The Chain of Prophethood
Verse: "Indeed Allah chose Adam, Noah, the family of Ibrahim, and the family of Imran above the worlds." (3:33)
Reflection: The election here is for prophethood and messengership — Allah chooses whom He wills for the most noble trust. This verse establishes a creedal principle: prophethood is a divine gift, not a human acquisition.
The chain of election: Adam (father of humanity), Nuh (second father after the flood), family of Ibrahim (Ishmaelite line: Muhammad ﷺ; Ishaqite line: Musa and Isa), family of Imran (Maryam and her son Isa ﷺ).
Lesson: Islam completes both legacies — neither rejecting Musa nor Isa ﷺ but completing what they were sent with.
