Basic Monotheism Surah: Maryam (16)

Mention in the Book Maryam When She Withdrew to an Eastern Place — The Chosen Woman

إِذِ ٱنتَبَذَتۡ مِنۡ أَهۡلِهَا مَكَانٗا شَرۡقِيًّا
— مريم الآية 16
Verse: "Mention in the Book, Maryam, when she withdrew from her family to an eastern place." (19:16) — She withdrew for worship. Maryam didn't wait for great events — she withdrew and worshipped. When Jibreel came to her she was in worship. The surah mentioned Maryam by explicit name without describing her as "mother of the Messiah" or "wife" — elevating her independent worth. When the supposed scandal loomed she withdrew to Allah not to people. Lesson: greatness is built in solitude — not in public scenes.
